Beloved Sister & Aunt
Mrs. Lena (Fratea) Visnia, 93, of Waterbury, passed away Sunday, February 24, 2013, at Waterbury Hospital. She was the widow of the late Albin G. Visnia.
Lena was born in Waterbury on April 21, 1919, daughter of the late Pasquale and Olympia (Macri) Fratea. She graduated from Wilby High School before being employed as an inspector at Sherwood Medical Industries, retiring in 1980 after 22 years of labor. Her greatest hobby was sewing, of which she enjoyed many hours.
Lena leaves behind to mourn, her brother Frank Fratea, Sr. and his wife Marie of Waterbury; a niece, Roberta Pesce and her husband Francis of Waterbury; three nephews, John Santopietro and his wife Marion of Cheshire, Frank Fratea, Jr. of New Hampshire and Robert Fratea and his wife Cathy of Waterbury. She was predeceased by her only son, Richard A. Visnia and her sister Rose Santopietro.
The Visnia and Fratea Families would like to extend a special thanks to all the hard working men and women at the Apple Rehabilitation Center in Waterbury, who brought great comfort and joy to Lena’s final days.
Arrangements: Funeral will be held Thursday, 9:30 a.m. at Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway to SS. Peter & Paul Church for a Mass at 10:30 a.m. Entombment will follow at Calvary Garden Mausoleum. A calling hour will be held Thursday morning, 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
