Lyda Josephine (McMullen) Dryer, 76, of Callao, MO, passed away on Monday, February 18, 2013, at the Landmark Hospital in Columbia, MO. Lyda was born on October 6, 1936, in Topeka, KS, the daughter of Dick and Agnes (Heck) McMullen. She was united in marriage to Robert Dryer on June 21, 1958, in Pochantas, AR. Lyda was a member of the United Methodist Church in Callao where she loved to play the organ for the church. She loved music, crafts and sewing. Lyda was well-known and well-liked in the community. She had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone within her power to help someone out. Lyda is survived by her husband of 55 years, Robert Dryer of Callao, one son, Robert Dryer II of Callao, three daughters, Alice Dryer of Callao, Peggy Elliano and her husband Lou of Valley Center, CA, and Robin Avery of Louisiana, MO, 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, one brother, Charles McMullen and his wife Norma of Topeka, KS, and several nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Franklin Dryer, one brother, Donald McMullen, one sister, Norma Jean Jackson, and one infant sister, Betty Jean Mitchell. Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Saturday, February 23, 2013, at the Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Macon. Burial will be in the Locust Grove Cemetery in Callao. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm, Friday evening, at the funeral home in Macon. The family suggests memorials be made to the family.
