U.S. Veteran

   Floyd E. Broome, 92, of Prentiss died Saturday February 16, 2013, at Jefferson-Davis Community Hospital.  Services will be Tuesday, February 19, 2013, at 2:00 p.m., at Moore Funeral Chapel in Hattiesburg, followed by burial in Highland Cemetery.

   Mr. Broome was a faithful deacon and member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Jefferson-Davis until his health prevented. He also was a member of the Exxon Mobile Club and a strong supporter of Southern Baptist Education and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He also served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

   He was preceded in death by his parents, Elijah and Annie Broome; first wife, Helen Clark Broome; two sisters, Viola Drennan; and Viona Stephens; four brothers, Rev. Dauphus Broome, Claudus Broome, Winston Broome, and Lamar Broome.

   He is survived by his wife, Ruby Daniel-Broome; and one son, Douglas G. Broome (Beth).

   Visitation will be Tuesday from 12:00 until service at Moore Funeral Home in Hattiesburg.
