of St. Paul, MN (formerly of Roseville, MN) passed away peacefully on February 14, 2013 at the age of 88. Pat was preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years, Adelaide (Nelson) Gorman, parents Clarence Gorman and Mary Ellen (Gorman) Peterson, and sister Barbara Ann Moe. He is survived by his daughters Denise Artley of Excelsior, MN and Marsha [Maggie] (Stephen) Pierce of Savage, MN. He is also survived by grandchildren Megan (Scott) Berry, St. Louis Park, MN, Bryan Pierce, Savage, MN, Scott Artley, Minneapolis, MN, Sharon (Sean) Gregerson, Menomonie, WI, and Peter Artley, St. Louis Park, MN; great-grandchildren Ashley and Jacob Berry; sister Mary Ellen (John) Flaherty of Superior, WI, sister-in-law Louaine (Jack) Clarke of Roseville, MN, brother-in-law Holace Nelson of St. Paul, MN; and 19 nieces and nephews. Pat was born in Minot, ND on December 11, 1924. He graduated from Cathedral High School in Superior, WI and enlisted in the U.S. Navy, proudly serving during World War II in the Pacific Theatre. He worked for the U.S. Railway Mail, U.S. Post Office and went on to work for the IRS until retirement in1978. Pat spent his last years living at Sholom Home, St. Paul, MN where he became an ambassador and spokesperson for assisted living. He thoroughly enjoyed life, saw each day as a new opportunity, and was completely devoted to his family. Visitation will be held at Roseville Memorial Chapel (2245 N. Hamline Ave, Roseville, MN) 651-631-2727 from 4pm – 8pm on Tuesday, February 19, 2013. The mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Roseville, MN at 10am on Wednesday, February 20, 2013. Private burial will take place at Roselawn Cemetery.
