Majel Kropf, age 95, of Shelbina, MO, passed away on Tuesday, January 29, 2013, at Salt River Community Care in Shelbina, MO.
She was born June 9, 1917, in Bethel, MO, the daughter of Isaac Sidney and Claudean Elizabeth Thoroughman Wear. On June 22, 1940, she was united in marriage to Walter Harley Kropf at Shelbina, MO. He preceded her in death on November 15, 2001.
Majel is survived by two sons, Harley Kropf and wife Pat and Charles Kropf and wife Linda, both of Shelbina, MO; five grandchildren, Jeff Kropf (Raven), Nikki Payne (Sam), Jake Kropf, Will Kropf (Evyn) and Cammie Kropf; three great-granddaughters and two sisters-in-law, Evelyn Kropf and Betty Kropf both of Mexico, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four brothers, Bill, Virgil, Sidney and Pete Wear and two sisters, Essie Johns and Irene Bush.
Majel was a member of the First Baptist Church of Shelbina where she taught Sunday School for Jr. High girls and was a long time member of the Kum Dubl Sunday School Class. She was a 1936 graduate of Shelbina High School and enjoyed cooking and canning. Majel’s church and her family were very important in her life.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 am on Friday, February 1, 2013, at the Shelbina Baptist Church with burial to follow at the Shelbina Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Shelbina, MO on Thursday, January 31, 2013 from 6 to 8 pm. Memorials may be made to the Kum Dubl Sunday School Class or Salt River Community Care.
