Paul Schwind, age 84, of Shelbina, MO, passed away on Wednesday, January 30, 2013, at Loch Haven Nursing Home in Macon, MO.
He was born October 4, 1928, in Knox County, MO, the son of Frank Henry and Gladys Beatrice Moore Schwind. In 2004 he was united in marriage to Frances O’Toole Clark. She survives.
Paul is also survived by one daughter, Patricia Tillitt and husband Clint of Macon, MO; nine grandchildren, Trinity Tillitt, Jareth Schwind, Matthew Holmes, Rosiline Schwind, Kale Tillitt, Bethany Tillitt, Kandice Tillitt, Kaylie Tillitt and Kylie Tillitt. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Pamela Diane; one brother Kenneth Schwind and one sister Betty Ann Schwind.
Paul was a member of the Shelbina Church of Christ and a graduate of Shelbina High School. He served his country in the United States Navy and Marines during World War II and the Korean war. He was a past manager of the Head Start, a devoted husband, wonderful dad and very loving granddad. His grandchildren called him “Bompa”. He enjoyed golf, fishing and taking long drives with Frances. Paul was a very devout member of the Church of Christ where he taught bible study. He always enjoyed helping anyone who needed help.
Funeral services will be held at the Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Shelbina, MO, at 1:00 pm on Sunday, February 3, 2013 with burial to follow at Knox City Cemetery, Knox City, MO. Visitation will be held at the Funeral Home in Shelbina from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Saturday, February 2, 2013. Memorials may be made to the Shelbina Church of Christ.
