Lucille Virginia Oshner

Lucille Virginia Oshner age 91 of Nixa, MO, passed away Thursday, January 31, 2013 at Christian Health Care in Nixa, MO. She was born April 20, 1921, north of Epworth, MO, the daughter of Glenn Gaylord and Norma Mollie (Sanders) Rainey. Lucille is survived by two daughters, Diane (Killen) Ness and her husband Richard of Springfield, MO and Donna (Killen) McConnell and her husband Ruel of Nixa, MO, three grandchildren, Lisa Herrlich and her husband Tom of Portland, TX, Tammy Cox and her husband William of Normal, IL and Dana Johnson and her husband Jeff of Springfield, IL, seven great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, one sister Margaret McEwen of Leonard, MO, one brother Glendell “Bub” Rainey of Columbia, MO and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her beloved companion, Sydney, an African Grey Parrot. She was preceded in death by her parents, two infant grandchildren, one sister Flossie C. Lindsey, two brothers Harold N. Rainey and Sidney L. Rainey, two sister-in-laws Laura J. Rainey and Clarice Rainey and two brother-in-laws Chester McEwen and Floyd Lindsey. Lucille “Lucy” was employed as a bookkeeper by O.F. Christner, Quincy Welding in Quincy, IL for twenty-nine years. After moving to Nixa, MO, in 1996, she worked at Antique Malls in Ozark, MO, until the fall of 2008 when her health began to decline. She loved the dealers and meeting customers that came from all over the U.S. She took pride in her new home and loved working in the yard with her variety of flowers. She enjoyed feeding the birds, bunnies and stray cats that visited her yard. She was an avid cross word puzzle and game show fan. Her hope was to someday be on the Wheel-of-Fortune. Visitation will be February 5, 2013, from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm with services at 1:30 pm at the Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Shelbina, MO. Burial will be at Bethel Zion Cemetery, Bethel, MO. Memorials may be made in her memory to the National Kidney Foundation, Bethel Zion Cemetery or charity of your choice.
