Mildred Nobles, 79, of Sumrall, died February 8, 2013 at Forrest General Hospital. Services will be at 1:30 p.m., Friday, February 15, 2013, at Moore Funeral Chapel in Purvis, followed by burial in Midway Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Nobles was a homemaker and seamstress, loved cooking and making quilts. She was a member of Community Baptist Church in Oloh, where she served food and helped in all kitchen duties. Known as Nanny Mill by her family, she will be missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Earl Nobles; her parents, Becky and Monroe Jones; a daughter, Patricia Ann Brown; a grandson, Eric Sargent; and two sisters, Vinell Hibley and Vitar Diar.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Doresa and Yancy Prine of Hattiesburg and Rebecca and Steve Bounds of Sumrall; three brothers, Lawrence Jones of Picayune, G.L. Jones and Jim Monroe Jones both of Purvis; a sister, Emily Lou Powell of Columbia; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two stepdaughters, Francis Baggett of Hattiesburg and Mae Lee Webster of Columbia; and numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
Our family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Sheila Cunningham, close friend and caretaker, of Hattiesburg, for the loving care she extended not only to “Miss Millie” but to all of us.
Visitation will be Thursday from 5-9 p.m. at Moore Funeral Home in Purvis.
