James Andy Davis, 85, of Hattiesburg, died February 11, 2013 at his home. Services will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at Moore Funeral Chapel in Purvis followed by burial in Lumberton City Cemetery.
Mr. Davis was a professional truck driver for Joe Miles and Son. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of First Baptist Church in Lumberton.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Nell Davis of Hattiesburg; a son, Willie Andy Davis of Brooklyn; five daughters, Sharon (Cecil) Thompson of Baxterville, Melinda (Alvin) Walters of Wiggins, Betty Ann Daughdrill of Purvis, Mary Jane (Eddie) Ladner of Linden, North Carolina and Tiny Kate (Jesse) Burdine of Gulfport; three sisters, Betty Lou Burnett of Arkansas, Shirley Ann Reid of Lumberton and Linda Sue Wilson of Wiggins; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 6-9 p.m. at Moore Funeral Home in Purvis.
