Peggy Ann Givens - Harris

Peggy Ann Givens Harris, age 58, of Fayetteville, went to be with the Lord, February 5, 2013, at Bentonville Manor Nursing and Rehab in Bentonville. She was born November 7, 1954, in Tulip, Arkansas, the daughter of Charles and Edna Givens. Peggy was raised in Malvern and graduated from Malvern High school in 1974. She was a member of Bethel A.M.E Church during her early years but later became a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. During these years, Peggy worked at Longmeadow Nursing Home in Malvern as a Certified Nursing Assistant and Morris Automotive in Arkadelphia as a Machine Operator. In 2005, Peggy moved to Fayetteville, where she worked as a sales associate for WalMart, Inc. She was a member of St. James United Methodist Church in Fayetteville. She enjoyed spending time with her family, caring for her beloved dog, Max, and maintaining her hair, makeup and nails.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her infant son, Rapfael Omar Harris.

Peggy is survived by her daughter, Cormella Givens Beard of Arkadelphia, her son, Charles Harris of Pine Bluff, her son, Harold Harris and wife, Mallory Bryant-Harris, of Fayetteville, and two beloved grandsons, Jerry and Jordan Beard, of Arkadelphia. She is also survived by four sisters, Mattie Burks, of Bakersfield, California, Pat Bridges of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Annie Glovers and Denise Burks, both of Seattle, Washington, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be 5-7pm on Friday, February 8, at Brandon’s Mortuary, Inc in Malvern. Memorial services will be held at 11am Saturday, February 9, at Bethel A.M.E. Church in Malvern with Reverend Bobbie Anderson officiating. Cremation will be performed under the direction of Brandon’s Mortuary, Inc.
