Mattie Crenshaw passed away January 31, 2013 at Palos Heights Community Hospital.

On August 7th, 1922, Mattie Bell Nabors made her debut, to the union of Walter Nabors and Mozella Smith. She was their third daughter. A native of Marianna, Arkansas. She found Christ at a young age, where she was baptized in Moro, Arkansas at the Mount Moriah Baptist Church.

Mattie was only 14 years old when her and her sister's experience the lost of their mother.

Mattie received her education and married a Crenshaw. Her sisters preceded her in death.

Mattie was very active in church until a few years ago.

However she loved having her grandchildren and great grandchildren around. She liked playing Pokeno, Monopoly, Bingo with her family.

Mattie was a faithful employee at Nabisco for over 30 years. She retired in 1984. She loved being anywhere there was young people, she refused to get old and was always young at heart.

Children that preceded her in death: Gloria Dean, Modena (Skip), Tommy T., Donald and Ronald.

Mattie leaves to cherish her memory and mourn her passing: sister, Joan (Lawrence) Stern; daughters, Ella Mae (Charles) Nowling, Betty Travis; son, Alvin Crenshaw; daughter-in-law, JoAnn Crenshaw; grandchildren, Zetta Allen, Stephanie Smith, Lee Travis, Jr., Kimberly Travis, Charlotte Nowling, Kellie Travis, Ed Crenshaw, Damarcius Crenshaw, Tommy Travis, Morissa Crenshaw, Arianna Crenshaw, Alicia Bates, Sterling Bates, Cordell Allen, Marcus Nowling, Leatricia Hall, Ronald Travis, Lia Bogan, Michael Crenshaw; 8 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Mattie will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May she Rest in Peace.
