Rose Marie Pleasants Barron went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, January 31, 2013 in a local hospital.
Rose was born May 14, 1927 in Hot Springs, Arkansas. She was a graduate of Langston High School, and was a retired bath attendant. She was also a lifelong member of Haven United Methodist Church, where she served as a Communion Steward until ill health.
Rose was predeceased by her parents, Robert Pleasants and Rosie Cummings Pleasants, one sister, Vivian Pleasants and one granddaughter, LaShanda Barron Hall.
Survivors are four sons: Kenneth Barron (Sweetie), Donald Barron Dennis Barron and David Barron all of Hot Springs, Arkansas; two daughters: Lauretta MaHone of Hot Springs, Arkansas and Lolita Flowers of Peoria, Illinois; four sisters: Doris Littlejohn and Roberta Butler both of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Emma Jean Grant of Peoria, Illinois, and Gertrude Russell of Chicago, Illinois; one brother, Robert Pleasants (Willie Mae) of Hot Springs, Arkansas; fifteen grandchildren and thirty-one great grandchildren.
A Celebration of her life will be held Saturday, February 9, 2013, at 10:00 am at Haven United Methodist Church, 107 Burroughs Street Hot Springs, Arkansas. A private visitation will be held for the family and close friends.
