Felix R. Barrera passed away in the early hours Tuesday morning peacefully alongside his family at the age of 93. Felix was born to the late Manuel and Maria Barrera. Felix first introduced himself while doing his duty during WWII, The Pacific Theatre. He also served as a Deputy for Val Verde County. He later on went to serve as Justice of the Peace Pct 1 for Val Verde County for 26 year until his retirement in 2003. He was very well known and liked among his constituents for helping them every and any time he could especially while serving as J.P. He is preceded in death by his wife of 72 years Natividad R. Barrera and son Lt Felix Barrera JR. Brothers Jesus, Manuel, Beto, Indalecio Barrera, Sisters Rita Flores and Socorro Ibarra.

Left to cherish his memories are his sons Jose Luis, Arturo, Roy Bean, Justice of the Peace Pct 1 Jim Bob Barrera SR daughters Ernestina Barrera and Elizabeth Barrera Trevino. 12 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

Gentlemen with the honor of Pallbearers will be Constable Pct 1 Jesse J. Trevino, Dionicio Trevino, Retired Army SSG Jim Bob Barrera Jr. Air Force SSgt Bobby L. Trevino, Jake Barrera and Ryan Barrera.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 6, 2013 from 3:00pm to 9:00pm, Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. Recitation of the Holy Rosary 7:00pm.

Mass of Christian burial will be held Thursday, February 7, 2013 at 12:00pm, Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.

Interment to follow at San Felipe Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post #595.
