Donna J. Boos, 80, of 756 Irvine St., Chippewa Falls, died Saturday, February 2, 2013 at the Chippewa Manor in Chippewa Falls.
She was born October 26, 1932 in Bloomer, the daughter of Gilbert “Gib” and Viola (Thorpe) Anderl.
Donna graduated from Bloomer High School in 1950.
On September 23, 1952 she married Walter A. “Wally” Boos at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Bloomer. She was a member of St. Charles Church.
She worked in both Atlanta, Georgia and Milwaukee, Wis. as an office worker, and then worked as a bookkeeper for Colbert Boot & Shoe. She was a stay-at-home mom until her kids were in school. Then later returning to work for ITT/Thorpe Finance and finally for the Chippewa Falls School District as a teacher’s assistant for 20 years in the early childhood program.
Donna’s faith was important to her as she and Wally raised their family. She loved spending time with family and friends. Donna found pleasure in spoiling her grandkids, crocheting, playing sheepshead, watching sports and everyone knew about her stuffed bear collection.
Donna is survived by one son, Jeff (Katie) Boos of Sun Prairie, Wis.; two daughters, Mary Beth (Larry) Clark of Chippewa Falls and Lisa (Tod) Leahy of Bloomer; two sisters, Shirley Rauscher of Eau Claire and Peggy (Peter) Prince of Bloomer; 8 grandchildren, Michael, Aaron and Mariah Boos, Lindsay (fiancé, Eric Andrews) Clark, Adam Clark, Amanda (David) Brenden, Andrew Williams and Rachel Radke; 4 great grandchildren, Amaya Rose Andrews, Gabrielle Rose Brenden, William Scott Walter Brenden and Grace Lilly Brenden; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wally in 2002; her parents; and one brother-in-law, Francis Rauscher.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 6 at St. Charles Church in Chippewa Falls. The Very Rev. Ed Shuttleworth will be celebrant of the funeral Mass. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Chippewa Falls.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, February 5 and until 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Horan Funeral Home in Chippewa Falls. The Ladies of St. Charles will recite the rosary at 4 p.m. and there will be a Christian Vigil Service at 7 p.m. both Tuesday at the funeral home.
