Phoebe E. Ostlie, 79, of Lompoc passed away on Monday, January 21, 2013.
Phoebe was born on July 1, 1933 in Chama, New Mexico to Max and Pablita Romero. Her family moved to Lompoc in 1942. She attended Lompoc High School and Santa Barbara School of Business. Phoebe worked as an executive secretary for Boeing Corp. and F.E.C. Corp. at Vandenberg Air Force Base. In the late 1970s, she became co-owner of the Executive Shop for Men with her husband Richard Ostlie. She attended La Purisima Catholic Church and was a member of the Catholic Daughters, Lompoc Chamber of Commerce, Elks Lodge, Odd Fellows Lodge, and Soroptimist International.
Phoebe found great joy in sewing, interior decorating, gardening, camping, bowling, traveling, and was an avid angel collector.
She is survived by her children Andy Rubalcava and Kathy Buyher; step-children, Larry Ostlie (Karen), Melvin Ostlie, and Sheron Mitchell (Hayden); sister, Cordelia Pacheco, five grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, her sisters Sally Terrones and Amelia Standen and brother Manuel Romero.
Her spirit and love will be in our hearts forever and always. You are loved and missed.
A private service for the family will be held. The arrangements are in the care of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary.
