Michael Hecomovich, 62 years of age of Salmon, Idaho passed away on January 12, 2013. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 25, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the Salmon Valley Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Palmer conducting. Burial will be in the Salmon Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the American Legion Lloyd Shaw Post #69 and the Idaho Honor Guard. Michael Steven Hecomovich was born on January 26, 1950 the second of four children born to Michael and Marie (McNeely) Hecomovich in San Francisco, California. When he was just two years old, the family moved to Keewatin, Minnesota where he grew up and graduated from High school in 1969. He was drafted into the Army in December and served until he was honorably discharged in 1971. He moved to the twin cities in Minnesota for a time and then back home to work at the Iron Range mining for Taconite. Mike was united in marriage to Bonnie ___________. They were blessed with three children: Stacy, Mike and Tara. He moved to Nevada in 1989 following their divorce. He worked as a slot technician at the State Line Casino. He met Edith Burton and they were married in 1998. In 2001, after Mike was injured in a work accident, they moved to Mountain Home, Idaho and then to Salmon in 2006 to be near family. Mike loved to hunt and fish in the valley here and enjoyed his involvement with the Beast Feast every year at church. His hobbies were cooking, woodworking and refinishing furniture. He created many treasures for his family over the years. Mike is survived by his wife Edith Hecomovich of Salmon, Idaho; two daughters: Stacy and Mike Terson of Hibbing, Minnesota, Tara and John Hendrickson of Keewatin, Minnesota; stepson Timothy Speakman of Salt Lake City, Utah; three stepdaughters: Sharon and Rudy Salazar of Plano, Texas, Martha and Joe DiMaggio of Salmon, Idaho and Charlotte and Nephi Lopez of Salmon, Idaho; two sisters: Brenda and Wally Kangas of Hibbing, Minnesota and Linda and Marv Wilson of Grand Rapids, Minnesota; 18 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Michael Steven Hecomovich III and sister JoAnn Hecomovich. Arrangements are under the direction of the Jones and Casey Funeral Home of Salmon, Idaho.
