Larry Huggins Chapman went home to be with The Lord on the 27th of January 2013 at the age of 66. He was born in Jackson, MS on April 13, 1946. He graduated from the University of Mississippi Pharmacy School in 1970. After graduating from college he was commissioned into the Public Health Service as the Committee Chairman of the EEOC of The United Southeastern Tribes. He was a licensed pharmacist in Alabama and Mississippi. While visiting family in Florida, Larry met and fell in love with a true, southern lady, Renee, which led to his move to Pensacola 17 years ago. He was a member of Pensacola First Assembly of God and he was also a faithful supporter of A/G World Missions and the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews. Larry “Pop” was a wonderful, loving, kind and giving person whose presence will be greatly missed by those who knew him. He was preceded in death by his father, Cary Goodwin Chapman and his mother, Nancy Huggins Chapman. Survivors include his wife of 17 years, Renee Chapman; son, Steve Pocopanni (Danielle); daughter, Ashley Murcko (Randy); 3 grandsons; 3 granddaughters; sister, Pamela Chapman Dawkins (Charles); 1 niece; 1 nephew; 2 great nieces and many extended family members. The family will receive friends at Pensacola Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Thursday, January 31, 2013 from 6 PM till a service begins at 7 PM. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Rasha Beg at the Woodlands Treatment Center for all of her diligent hard work in caring for Larry during his illness.
