Patricia K Carlson

PAXTON – Patricia K. "Pat" Carlson, 71, of Paxton died at 10:34 a.m. Saturday (Jan. 26, 2013) at Heartland Health Care Center, Paxton.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, at First Lutheran Church, 301 S. College, Paxton, with the Rev. Barbara Busboom officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cemtery, Paxton. Baier Family Funeral Services, Paxton is handling arrangements.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service Tuesday at the church.

Pat was born May 21, 1941, in Paxton, the daughter of Lee F. and Verna M. Hilgendorf Johnson. She married Ronald A. Carlson on Oct. 30, 1960, in Buckley. He preceded her in death on April 11, 1992.

Survivors include her mother of Paxton; one daughter, Pam (Cully) Schwartz of Paxton; three granddaughters, Samantha Schwartz of Mazon, Blair (Jesse) Adwell of Paxton and Paige Schwartz of Paxton; two brothers, Allen (Nancy) Johnson of Loda and Dick (Debbie) Johnson of Fisher; a sister-in-law, Mary Johnson of Urbana; and two nieces and four nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father and a brother, Gene.

Pat attended St. John's Lutheran School and graduated from Buckley High School in 1959. She also attended Parkland College, Champaign.

Pat lived in Buckley 19 years and moved to Paxton in 1960. She was employed by Dr. O. R. Zunkel of Buckley three years; was a nurse's aide for 25 years at both the Ford County Nursing Home and the Illinois Knights Templar Home of Paxton. She also worked in food service at both the Paxton Day Care Center and PBL High School.

Pat was a member of the First Lutheran Church, Paxton. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, crocheting and cake decorating. Her greatest joy was her family.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Kidney Foundation, C-U Dialysis Unit, Urbana, First Lutheran Church, Paxton, or an organization of the donor's choice.
