Charles X. Booth a resident of Pearl River, NY for 52 years, died Thursday, January 24, 2013 at his home. He was 83. Mr. Booth worked as a broker for Drackett and Boerner Co. in Long Island, NY. Charles was born August 17, 1929 in Hoboken, NJ to Joseph W. and Anne (Heckel) Booth. He was a graduate of Weehawken HS and attended Pratt Art Institute before joining the US Army. He served in the Army from 1951 to 1953. On June 1, 1957 he married Nora Gillespie at Our Lady of Mercy in Bronx, NY. Locally, he was a member of the American Legion Post #329 and a member of St. Margaret’s Church. Mr. Booth will be remembered for his love of his children, grandchildren and his many family and friends. He always had a smile for everyone he met. He is survived by his children, Erin Tomanio (Paul) of Oxford, CT, Patrick (Victoria) of Dumont, NJ, Maureen Garrabrant (Keith) Valley Cottage, NY, Kevin (Vicki Ann) of Park Ridge, NJ, Brian (Phyllis) of Pearl River and Noreen Booth of Pearl River and 12 grandchildren, Colleen, Katie, Patrick and Maggie Booth, Ryan, Kelly and Kyle Garrabrant, Justin, Michelle and Kevin Booth, Brendan and Shannon Booth. He is also survived by his brother Joseph W. Booth. He is predeceased by his loving wife Nora. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 am Monday at St. Margaret’s R.C. Church, Pearl River. Burial will follow at Cemetery of the Ascension, Airmont, NY. Visiting is Sunday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm at Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home Inc.
