Mable Crossland, 90 of Centralia passed away Saturday, January 19, 2013 at her home.
Mable was born October 28, 1922 in Muncie, Indiana, daughter of John Armstrong and Birdie (Chattix) Armstrong. She married Thomas H. Crossland, Jr. and he preceded her in death.
She is survived by two sons: Thomas H. Crossland, III. and wife Anne of Salem and Byron A. Crossland and wife Johnnie of Ellenwood, GA; five grandchildren: Michelle Crossland-Enriquez and husband Jonas of O’Fallon, MO, Stephanie Crossland-Johnson and husband Eugene of Centralia, Anthony Crossland and girlfriend Jessica of Edwardsville, Aaron Crossland and Travianna Crossland; thirteen great-grandchildren: Antonio Crossland, Andre Crossland, Dominic Enriquez, Tyler Enriquez, Josephine Johnson, Zachary Enriquez, Angelina Enriquez, Chyna Johnson, Savannah Johnson, Victoria Green, Kayden Green, Isabella Enriquez and Brylan Guthrie; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Thomas H. Crossland, Jr., a grandson, Thomas H. Crossland IV, a brother: Lorenzo Armstrong and a sister: Johnnie Armstrong.
Mable owned and operated Crossland's Antiques for 30 years with her husband. She enjoyed collecting Ceramic Birds, going to Auctions, Flee Markets, Casinos playing Bingo and she enjoyed watching TV. Most of all she loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Private Family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Kidney Association, American Diabetes Association and SIDS Resources and will be accepted at Hillcrest Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Centralia, which is assisting the Crossland Family with arrangements.
