Dorothy Cordray 85, passed away Saturday, January 19, 2013 at her home near Gallatin. Graveside services will be held at 1:00pm Wednesday January, 23rd at the Smithville Memorial Cemetery near Smithville, MO.
Dorothy P. Cordray was born May 12, 1927 to Jim and Bessie (Sanders) White in Kosciusko, MS, where she attended school and lived as a young adult. While living at home, she was a caregiver for her younger brothers and sisters. She was united in marriage to Wilbert Cordray January 29, 1946 in Lucedale, MS. Dorothy was a stay at home Mom who delighted in caring for her children. Wilbert and Dorothy moved to a farm west of Gallatin in 1985. On Sunday mornings you would find Dorothy taking care of the Nursery at the Baptist Church in Gallatin. She dedicated her time and talents caring for the children and making sure each one felt special and loved. In her spare time she enjoyed reading. Dorothy was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and her 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
Dorothy is survived by her husband Wilbert of the home, sons; Cecil and Floyd Cordray both of Kansas City, 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
