Benjamin Busone

Troy – Benjamin Busone, 91, died Thursday, January 17, 2013 at the Samaritan Hospital in Troy, with his family by his side. He was husband of the late Elizabeth Mlock Busone, who died in 1994. Born and raised in Watervliet, son of the late Vincenzo and Angelina Finelli Busone, he resided in Troy most of his lifetime. He served in the US Army as a paratrooper and an MP during World War II. He had been employed by the former Republic Steel as a crane operator for 30 years and then by the VA Medical Center in Albany for 20 years, retiring as a facilities supervisor. Ben was a communicant of St. Michael the Archangel Church in Troy, a member of the North Greenbush Elks and was known as a craftsman and master birdhouse builder. He is the father of Elizabeth (late Peter) Bianca of Troy, Deborah Jubic of Brunswick and Linda (Paul) Gauthier of Poestenkill; grandfather of Peter (Cheri) Bianca of Selkirk and Robert (Cherie) Jubic of Poestenkill; great grandfather of Kristin, Erin, Caitlin and Bobby; brother of Henry (Ceil) Busone of Florida and the late Rose Robbins, Philip “Lefty,” James, Anthony, Jerry and Michael Busone. Funeral services, led by Father James Mackey, will be held at the McNulty Funeral Home, 147 Hudson Avenue, Green Island on Saturday at noon. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Troy. Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the funeral home prior to the services.
