James Daniel

Mr. James Daniel “Danny” Anderson, age 61, of Hill Street, North Wilkesboro, died Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at his home. Mr. Anderson was born December 26, 1951 in Wilkes County to Frances Jenkins. He worked for Wilkes County EMS for the last 29 years. He served as a member of the North Wilkesboro Fire Department for 28 years and the Wilkes Rescue Squad for 30 years. He attended Wilkes Cowboy Church.

His co-workers and friends affectionately nicknamed him “Brover”; he was a brother to all who knew and loved him. Danny lived life to its fullest. He was the protector, the joker and the steadfast rock all at the same time. He gave selflessly of himself to his community and demonstrated compassion and care for his fellow man.

Surviving are his wife, Diane Francis Anderson of the home; two daughters, Stephanie Williams and husband Chris of Troutman, Jody Williams Johnson and husband Chris of Winston-Salem; brother, Doug Anderson and wife Doris of North Wilkesboro; and two grandchildren, Ella and Banks Williams. Danny was preceded in death by his mother.

Funeral service will be held 3:00 o’clock Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Miller Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Robert Duncan officiating. The family will receive friends at Miller Funeral Service from 1:00 until 3:00 o’clock on Saturday, prior to the service. Burial with Wilkes County EMS and North Wilkesboro Fire Department Honor Guard will follow in Scenic Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Charlie Anderson, Lynn Barlow, Chy Billings, Gary Blevins, Lee Roy Church, Wayne Jarvis, George Lankford, Doug Laws, Bill Sexton, and Roger Williams. Honorary Pallbearers will be Wilkes EMS, North Wilkesboro Fire Department and Wilkes Rescue Squad.

The family has requested no food or flowers. Memorials may be made to North Wilkesboro Fire Department, Wilkes Rescue Squad, Wilkes Fireman’s Association, or Ebenezer Garden Christian Children’s Home.
