Linda J. Baker, 67, a life-time resident of Pawling, passed away Wednesday, January 02, 2013 at Putnam Hospital Center, Carmel, NY. Daughter of the late Ernest Raymond and Jennie (Lindberg) Johnson, she was born in Poughkeepsie, NY. Linda graduated from Pawling High School in 1963 and attended Krissler Business Institute; she married Harold H. Baker in Pawling on May 27, 1967; he survives at home. Linda was the past secretary/treasurer for the Pawling Little League for many, many years. Linda worked as a secretary for Chertock’s Department Store in Pawling, but she devoted most of her life taking care of her “love-bug” grandson, Logan, whom she loved dearly. In addition to her husband, Harold, Linda is survived by her daughter, Joanne Coon and her husband, William, of Wingdale; her son Erik Baker and his wife, Jennifer, of Evans, GA; and her four grandchildren, Logan Coon, Mary Elizabeth Baker, Hunter Wells, and Erik Baker. Friends may call at the Horn & Thomes, Inc. Funeral Home, 83 East Main Street, Pawling on Friday, January 4th from 4-8PM. A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday at 10AM; burial will follow at Quaker Hill Cemetery, Pawling. In lieu of flowers, donations in Memory of Linda may be made to either the Pawling United Methodist Church or the Pawling Resource & Service Center.
