Robert

U.S. Veteran

Robert “Bob” Leeson, 94, of Apache Junction, Arizona, formerly of Fond du Lac and Slinger, Wisconsin, passed to eternal life on Friday, December 28, 2013.

He was born on February 3, 1918, in Hammond, Indiana, to the late Robert E. and Flora M. Goebel Leeson.

Bob was an Army Air Force Veteran of World War II.

He was a member of the Teamsters Union, and received the “Million Mile” safety award while driving truck for International Paper Co. in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. Bob was a model railroad enthusiast for most of his life, and touched many hearts with his beautiful train displays.

Bob was always very active in his faith, where he could often be heard playing his guitar and singing the Lord’s praises with his first wife, Alma. Bob was a great husband to both his wife Alma, and his wife Elaine, and all who have been touched by his great love, that he shared freely, will dearly miss him. For all of his children, grandchildren, great- grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and his many friends, he was their teacher by example.

Bob is survived by his wife Elaine (Smet) Leeson; eight children and four stepchildren: Robert (Lois) Leeson, Sharon Nelson, Richard (Kay) Leeson, Ken (Pat) Leeson, Judi Royse, Nancy (Warren) White, Betty (Roger) Patterson, Julie (Joe) Cox, Pattie Smet, Julie (Jim) Maurer, Kitty (Mark) Kastelic, and Jimmy (Michelle) Smet; 27 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and three sisters: Helen Johnson, Delores Commings, and Leona Petri.

Bob was preceded in death by his first wife, Alma Lee (St. Clair) Leeson; five sisters; two brothers; one son-in-law; and one granddaughter.

The funeral service will be at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, January 7, 2012, at Community Church, N6717 Streblow Drive, Fond du Lac, with Rev. David Mundt officiating. The visitation will be on Monday at church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Entombment will be at 3:00 p.m. on Monday at Shrine of Rest Mausoleum in Ledgeview Memorial Park.
