Alfred B. Kittleson, 77, of Delmar, Iowa, died Monday afternoon, December 31, 2012, in his home.

Al was born November 21, 1935, in Mason City, Iowa, to Clarence and Clara (Elstad) Kittleson. He graduated from Mason City High School. Al was a member of Local 2158 in Moline, Illinois, for over 35 years, working as a carpenter and millwright. On July 18, 1983, he was united in marriage to Mary Kaszinski Haack at St. Anne Catholic Church, Welton.

Al was a member of St. Anne Church and was a firefighter with the Welton Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed wintering in Texas, fishing, playing cards, camping, traveling, and spending time on his acreage.

Surviving are his loving wife, Mary; children, Andrea (Paul) Raiford of Texas, Michelle (David) Weets of North Carolina, Cary Curtis of Davenport, Iowa, Terri (Fred) Castle of Charles City, Iowa, and Larry Haack of New York; grandchildren, Charles and Caroline Raiford, Elizabeth and Carter Weets, Austin and Ross Curtis, Freddie (Megan) Castle and April (Nick) Wegner; great-grandchildren, Emma and Kuennen; sisters, Beverly (Don) Sturges of Florida, Margaret Grell of Northwood, Iowa, and Marilyn ("Bud") Kittleson of Mason City; many nieces and nephews.

Preceding Al in death were his parents; sisters, Carry Kittleson, Evelyn Callahan and Lorraine Kingsburg; and brothers, Nels, LaVern "Bud" and Germaine.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Saint Anne Catholic Church, Welton, from 12 noon until 1:45 p.m. Friday, January 4, 2013. A Mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday in the Church with the Reverend Father Paul Connolly presiding. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery, DeWitt, at a later date. Memorials are suggested to Camp Courageous or Genesis Hospice.
