Imelda “Millie” Beck (nee Kennedy), died in her sleep on December 29, 2012. Her 93 years were full of love and caring for those around her. She was a devoted wife to Wesley “Duke” for 65 years, the loving mother of Constance (Gary) Wald, Theodore (Diana) Beck and the late Terrance Beck. She was a wonderful grandmother to Chris, Will, Kat, Laura, Jennifer and Derek and the great grandmother of Daphne June. She was the daughter of the late Kennedys of Peosta, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and John and a sister Margaret.
Millie was raised in Dubuque Iowa and met her sweetheart Duke at a dance and they were married six months later. They moved to Wisconsin to follow his career in banking. She was a marvelous seamstress and famous for supervising decorations at North Shore Golf Club or the First National Bank of Menasha’s Christmas party. Since Duke’s passions were golf, the University of Iowa and the University of Wisconsin they quickly became hers as well and the two of them spent virtually all of their time following those passions to the Rose Bowl or a golf outing in Ireland.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 4, 2013, at St Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 620 Division, Neenah, with Fr. Michael Ingold officiating. Inurnment will take place in Lakeview Cemetery, Fort Atkinson. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, Neenah.
