Candy Searles Wylie, formerly of Blythe, passed away on Dec. 20, 2012 at her home in Yuma, Ariz. at the age of 56.
Born in Amarillo, Texas on Sept. 29, 1956, to Katherine "Kitty" and Frank Searles, she was raised, in part, by her stepfather Gayle Hatley. She moved to Blythe at a young age, where she resided off-and-on throughout her lifetime.
Candy had a special love for children and a passion for working with them. She was proud of having received her degree in Early Childhood Education from Mohave Community College in Bullhead City, Ariz. in 2006. A true "river rat", she enjoyed boating and hanging out on the river. She loved riding Harleys with her husband, bargain hunting, and spending time, especially traveling, with her family. She was well known, like her mother, for her cooking. An outgoing person who had the ability to light up a room, she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Candy is survived by her husband, Kenneth "Danny" Wylie of Yuma; children Nicole (Chad) Lenzini, Ryan Guilin and Cortnee Goodlin of Las Vegas; stepdaughters, Shanna Wylie of Exeter and Weslie Wylie of Newport Beach; grandchildren Jacob Lenzini, Bodie West, Roland Wylie, Chase Wylie, Kennedy Lenzini, Cal Wylie, and Jackson Ortiz; brothers Jearold (Kathy) Searles, Marvin Searles, Bill Coussons, Larry (Nancy) Williams; sisters Isis Martin, Janice (Tommy) Durham; best friend Mitzi Williams; nieces; nephews; great-nieces; great-nephews; other friends and family members; and her beloved Chihuahua Tinker.
She was preceded in death by her parents and joined in death by her stepson, Jeff Wylie.
Visitation will be on Thursday, Dec. 27th from 5-7:00pm at Frye Chapel with Memorial Services beginning at 7pm. A processional will begin at Frye Chapel at 9:45 a.m. on Dec. 28, followed by a graveside service at 10 a.m. A reception at the Elks Lodge will follow Friday's service.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made in her name to Childhelp, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping victims of child abuse and neglect (1-800-4-A-CHILD or www.childhelp.org).
