Roger F. Meinen

Roger F. Meinen, 74, of 4088 143rd St. Chippewa Falls, village of Lake Hallie died peacefully with his family by his side on Sunday, December 23, 2012.

He was born January 19, 1938 in Tilden, the son of Louis and Mary (Reisterer) Meinen. He graduated from McDonell High School in 1956 and also attended CVTC in Eau Claire.

On August 27, 1960 he married Carolyn Siddons at Notre Dame Church.

He worked at Mason Shoe for 40 years, ushered at Notre Dame Church and was a past member of the Notre Dame Parish Council; he loved watching the Packers, camping, woodworking, including making items for his family.

Roger is survived by his wife, Carolyn; one son, Randall (Carol) Meinen of Davie, Fla.; three daughters, Linda (Michael) Wencl of Winona, Minn., Kathryn (Richard) Crusing of Chippewa Falls and Diane (Wayne) Messman of Stetsonville, Wis.; three sisters, Josephine Goettl, Jeanette Ferstenou and Bernadine Score all of Bloomer; one brother-in-law, Eugene Eder, one sister-in-law, Marie Meinen both of Chippewa Falls; 8 grandchildren, Jordan, Nicole, Adam, Eric, Ashley, Kelsey, Angelica and Trentin; and 3 step grandchildren, Stephanie, Christopher and Kevin Kelly; also many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Gregor (Elsie) Meinen, John, Walter and Vernon Meinen; four sisters, Emily Eder, Helen (Art) Faschingbauer and two sisters in infancy; three brothers-in-law, Clifford Goettl, Melvin Ferstenou and Earl Score; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 29 at Notre Dame Church in Chippewa Falls. Rev. Msgr. Mark Pierce will be celebrant of the funeral Mass. Interment will be in Hope Cemetery in Chippewa Falls.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, December 28 and until 10 a.m. Saturday at the Horan Funeral Home in Chippewa Falls. There will be a Christian Vigil Service at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
