Marlaine M. Floyd, age 57 years, of Tigerton (formerly of Milwaukee) passed away on Friday evening, December 21, 2012 at her home after a courageous battle with cancer.
The former Marlaine Marie Rathman was born on May 22, 1955 in Milwaukee to Francis and Marie (Kramer) Rathman. In 1973 she graduated from Waterford Union High School. Over the years Marlaine was employed at various jobs, but she spent some time working as a chef at several restaurants in Hales Corners. She liked reupholstering furniture, sewing, crocheting, knitting, reading, blogging, and writing. Marlaine was most proud of her science fiction writing that was published by the Milwaukee Journal –Sentinel and Star Magazine. She also loved training her German Shepherds and spending time with family. On February 20, 2005 she was united in marriage to Brad J. Floyd at the courthouse in Milwaukee.
Survivors include her husband, Brad, and a brother Craig “Bear” Rathman, both of Tigerton. She is further survived by many other relatives and friends. Marlaine is preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 5th at 12:00 Noon at the Beil-Didier Funeral Home, Clintonville. Friends may call on Saturday from 10:00 AM until time of service at the funeral home.
