Byron E. “Bud” Cartwright, age 64, of Lexington, SC, formerly of Glouster, Ohio, died Monday evening, Dec. 17, 2012 at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Edgewood, KY.
Born July 6, 1948 in Athens, Ohio, he was the son of the late Ernest Edgar & Ethel L. Markins Cartwright.
He was a 1966 graduate of Glouster High School and a 1970 graduate of Ohio University, where he was a member of the Ohio University 110 Marching Men Band.
He operated a consulting business, Technology Intergradations Audio Visual Networks and Security. He was Chief Operating Officer (COF) with NORCOM, in Northern Kentucky. He was a former teacher and a home builder, building homes throughout the United States.
Bud was a member of the Lexington, SC United Methodist Church and the Lexington, SC Home Builder’s Association. He was also a member of several professional organizations.
Bud is survived by his wife of 40 years, Kristine “Kristi” Robb Cartwright; two sons- Daniel E. Cartwright and spouse Shane Comer, of Ellicott City, MD and Brian K. Cartwright and spouse Stephanie Cartwright of Lexington, SC; five grandchildren- Isabelle & Adrienne Cartwright, Collin Lynch-Miller, Mu & Braylan Cartwright; and a sister, Barbara Cartwright of Glouster.
Funeral service will be conducted Friday 1:00 pm at Jagers & Sons Funeral Home, in Athens, with Rev. Kevin D. Robb, O.P., officiating. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery, in Glouster. Friends may call Friday 11:00 am until time of service at the funeral home.
