Leslie W. “Les” Niemann, 65, of Buckley died at 9:55 p.m. Thursday, November 1, 2012, at the Illinois Knights Templar Home, Paxton.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 5, 2012, at Baier Family Funeral Services, 306 E. Lincoln Street, Buckley with Rev. Daniel A. Olson officiating. Burial will follow in St. John’sCemetery, Buckley.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Sunday, November 4, at Baier Family Funeral Services, Buckley.
He was born October 27, 1947 in Paxton the son of Wilbert and Gladys Rehborg Niemann.
He married Linda Ennen November 18, 1967 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Loda.
Les is survived by Linda Niemann of Buckley; two daughters, Traci (Mike) Wise of Loda, Diana (Drew) Higginson of Loda; one son, Steve (Mary) Niemann of Buckley; four grandchildren; five step grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Ann Riggle of Paxton, Rita Janssen of Georgia and Pat (Bob) Killion of Buckley.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister and one grandson.
Les was a farmer in the Buckley area. He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Loda. He spent more than 33 years racing demolition derby cars. He was an avid hunter, fisher and trapper and always enjoyed playing a practical joke on someone. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Iroquois Memorial Hospice or the Ford County Demolition Derby Fund.
