ANTONITO—Longtime Antonito resident Louise E. Malouff, 89, died December 12, 2012 at her home in Antonito.
Louise was born on March 22, 1923 the daughter to Savino and Sofia Vigil Marquez. She married Joe H. Malouff at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Capulin on April 20, 1941. Joe and Louise were married for 62 years. Joe died in 2003.
Louise was a homemaker. She was a member of the Catholic Church and in her early years was active in the Sacred Heart Society and sang in the church choir at St. Augustine in Antonito. She loved to crochet and made many blankets for all her family. Louise also enjoyed cooking and made certain that everyone had plenty of food to eat.
She liked to camp, fish and spend time with her family.
Louise is survived by her children: Philip (Rebecca) Malouff, Albert (Veronica) Malouff, George (Christine) Malouff, Ronnie (Theresa) Malouff all of Antonito, Susan (Alex) Gonzales of La Jara, Marion (Max) Ruybal of Antonito, Louise Malouff of Alamosa, Danny Malouff of La Jara; her daughters-in-law Josie Malouff of La Jara and Linda Malouff of Alamosa; her brothers and sisters: Victoria Rivera of La Jara, Joseph (Chris) Savino Marquez, Jr. of Denver and Cecilia (Alfonso) Valdez of Capulin; as well as 33 grandchildren, 66 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and one on the way and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Her parents, her husband, her son Michael Malouff, her brothers and sisters: Ben, Ramoncita, Jose, Leila, Corina, Priscilla, Vivian, Martha, Arthur and Casilda; as well as three grandchildren all preceded her in death.
A Vigil with Recitation of the Rosary will be held 7:00 p.m. Sunday, December 16th followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 17, 2012 both at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Conejos. Interment will follow services at the Capulin Cemetery.
