Mary Frances Armstrong

Mary Frances Armstrong, 67, of Harpers Ferry, WV passed away on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at her residence.

Born September 7, 1945 in Harpers Ferry, she was the daughter of the late Lester Nick and Anna Hamilton Nick.

Mary was employed at Walmart in Leesburg, VA for 11 years.

She was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by her husband of 32 years, George William Armstrong, at home; one daughter, Kimberly Thompson and three sons, Ricky Thompson and wife, Angela, Leon Thompson and fiancé, Heather and Todd Longerbeam and companion, Donna, three brothers, Harry Carpenter and wife, Pearl, John W. Nick and wife, Rebecca and Marshall “Leon” Nick and wife,Diania, four sister, Jane Howell and husband, Audry, Bessie Rinker, Shirley Martin and husband, William and Joyce Painter and husband, Phillip, five grandchildren, Kimberly Keysucker, Ricky Thompson, Jr., Ian Thompson and Stevie and Teri Dean, and four great grandchildren, Charles, Hunter and Christian Keysucker and Rylan Thompson and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

She was preceded in death by three children, Penny Thompson, Douglas Thompson and Robert Thompson, five brothers, Rev. Jerry Carpenter, Rev. Larry Carpenter, Rev. Franklin Nick, Melvin Nick and Michael Nick, one sister, Thelma Bartlett and one grandchild, Stephanie Thompson.

Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, December 13, 2012 at the Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry/Charles Town, WV with Rev. Danny Nick and Floyd Nick officiating. Interment will be in Murrill Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday and Wednesday from 7-9 pm.
