Joseph J. “Joe” Hession, Sr., 65, of Lumberton, died December 2, 2012 at his home. Services will be at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at Moore Funeral Chapel in Purvis followed by burial in Mineral Springs Cemetery.
Mr. Hession was an electrician with Chain Electric and Lee Electric. He served in the U.S. Air Force in Vietnam and was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ruby Hession; two brothers, John Noah Hession and Randy Hession and a sister, Mildred Harper.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Sharon Hession of Lumberton; step-mother, Virginia Hession of Dixie Community; daughter, Connie Hendry of Petal; son, Joe Hession, Jr. (Jennifer) of Lumberton; granddaughter, Julie Hession; grandsons, Toby Hession, Matthew Pearce and C.J. Bush (Jennifer); three sisters, Charlotte Hendricks (Bill) of Concord, Calif., Jeanette Graham (Darrell) of Sumrall and Bobbie Cole (LeRoy) of Jacksonville, Fla.; five brothers, Cecil Hession (Hellen) of Ulee, FLa., Rudy Hession (Heather) of Dallas, Lewis Hession (Dorothy) of Tyler, Tex., Bill Hession (Charlotte) of Moselle and Mark Hession of Pascagoula.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. at Moore Funeral Home in Purvis.
