Jack Carl Morabito, 93, passed away with his family by his side on Nov. 19, 2012 in Tucson, Ariz.

Jack was born May 21, 1919 in San Francisco, Calif., to Carmelo and Antonia Morabito.

He served in the United States Army as a flight instructor from 1943-1945 and it was while he was in Blythe, up at the Mesa teaching flying, that he met his wife, Opal, at a local dance.

Jack married Opal May Sain and they spent their earlier years together in Blythe where they opened and ran many businesses, including the Foster's Freeze establishment and the car wash located in East Blythe.

Jack was very active in the Blythe community and a great business man and leader. He had a great sense of humor and was always making others laugh. He will be dearly missed.

Jack is survived by his wife, Opal Morabito, of Tucson, Ariz.; his son, Jack Morabito; and daughter, Carmen Grimes; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Private graveside services for Jack were held at Palo Verde Cemetery. A memorial Mass service is scheduled for Nov. 27, 2012 at 1 p.m. at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Blythe.
