Harold H. Naylor, 90, passed away following a brief illness on 23 November, 2012. A 54 year resident of Hattiesburg, MS, he enjoyed a well-respected career in the concrete construction industry. A graduate of New York University School of Engineering and veteran of WWII he began his career in engineering engaging in many significant public works projects in MS, LA, TX, AK, including interstate highway and bridgework. A founding owner of F-S Prestress, Inc., his many structural engineering accomplishments included challenging and highly technical construction techniques. During the 1980’s Harold founded Precast Concrete Products and Ficon Fabricators, two innovative manufacturing companies which played significant roles in the advancement of commercial building systems.
He was blessed with the opportunity to serve as a volunteer at The Forrest General Cancer Center and to interact with the dedicated individuals who serve their patients. He also greatly enjoyed the opportunity to participate in the programs at the Hattiesburg YMCA where he was allowed to participate in discussion groups on a variety issues with many good friends.
He is survived by his three sons, Harold, Jr. (Cynthia), Wilmington, DE, Bill (Heike), Longview, TX and Gene (Bobbi), Jackson, MS. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Jenny (Jackson, MS) Brad (Starkville, MS) Ryan, Lauren and Evan (Delaware), Jeremy (Denton, TX) Anja (Longview, TX). He was predeceased by his wife, Ingeborg, who died in 1994.
