Robert G. Albright, Sr. of Levittown passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, November 22, 2012 surrounded by his son and daughter. He was 67.
Born in the Mayfair section of Philadelphia, Bob grew up in West Bristol and has resided in Levittown for the past 41 years.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army stationed at the Pentagon in Washington D.C. from 1964 until 1967.
Bob was a member of the American Legion Post #960 where he helped with deliveries of charity baskets and was also a member of the VFW Post #6495 where he served as past commander. He was a long time member of the former Moose Lodge in Newportville as well.
He was a letter carrier with the US Postal Service at the Levittown office for 25 years until retiring in 2006.
He enjoyed baseball and football and was an avid Eagles fan. He also enjoyed fishing, especially trips to the Outer Banks in North Carolina, and was especially proud to have taught each of his 4 grandchildren to fish at a young age.
Bob was the beloved father of Robert G. Jr. of Bensalem and Donnasue of Levittown.
He was the devoted grandfather of Brittni Albright, Suzanne Holbrook, Christopher Albright and Anthony Holbrook.
He was the brother of Jim (Mary Helen) and will be sadly missed by numerous nieces and nephews and his life long friend of 55 years Jim Miller.
He was preceded in death by his wife Susan D. (Plummer), his parents Albert and Elsie (Hudson) and his brother Ray Albright.
Family and friends may call Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown where his funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Rosedale Memorial Park.
