Charles Elvin Burton, age 63, of Prescott, Arkansas was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 16, 2012 while at his residence in Prescott, Arkansas. His home going service will be held Friday, November 23, 2012 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Brandon’s Mortuary 2912 Highway 29 North Hope, Arkansas with Rev. Ivory Curry officiating. His military career will be signified in a burial with military honors at DeAnn Cemetery in Prescott, Arkansas.
Charles was a disabled Vietnam War veteran and a member of Ward Chapel AME Church. He was predeceased by his parents, Cleophus Burton and Hazel McGill Burton, two brothers Cleotis Burton and Rodney Burton, and one sister Baby Girl Burton.
He is survived by his wife Ernestine Williams Burton of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; two sons Charles Munday Burton and Brandon E. Burton both of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; one daughter Yolanda Jamison of Texarkana, Arkansas; two brothers Carl E. Burton off North Little Rock, Arkansas and Glenn Burton of Prescott, Arkansas; four sisters Myrtle (Otis) Harris, Gracie (Doug) Arnold, and Debrah (Willie) Armstrong all of Texarkana, Arkansas and Gennetta Yarbrough of Prescott, Arkansas. Seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Two uncles Samuel McGill of Flint, Michigan and Fred (Ethel) McGill of Blevins, Arkansas; three aunts Sarah Hill, Luisa Marshall and Gladine Wilson all of Blevins, Arkansas
Visitation will be Friday from 9:30 am until funeral time at Brandon’s Mortuary Hope, Arkansas.
