ANDERSON - Rebecca "Becky" Bonner Betsill, 100, of 311 Simpson Road, widow of Lt. Col. Wesley L. Betsill, passed away Thursday, November 15, 2012 at Anderson Place Nursing Center.

Born May 23, 1912 in Greenwood, she was the daughter of the late Mason and Emmie Calhoun Bonner. She was a 1933 graduate of Winthrop University. Mrs. Betsill was a teacher in the Glenn Springs Community in Spartanburg and in the school system in Lincolnton, NC. She was named teacher of the year in 1975.

Surviving are her 2 step-sons, Dr. Wesley L. Betsill, Jr. and his wife, Sherry of IL and Harry E. Betsill and his wife, Sue of MD; special friend and former daughter-in-law, Betty L. Betsill of Anderson; 6 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Mrs. Betsill was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Dr. William Bonner and Robert Bonner and 2 sisters, Kathleen Goodson and Miriam Burnett.

Funeral service will be held at 2pm Sunday at Sullivan-King Mortuary, 3205 N. Hwy 81, Anderson. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2pm prior to the service. A private burial will follow at First Baptist Church Cemetery in Pacolet. The family is at their respective homes.
