Richard Vale Day, age 63, of Kahoka MO died Thursday, November 15, 2012 in the Scotland Co. Hospital in Memphis, MO.
Richard was born October 18, 1949 at Monmouth, IL, a son of Kenneth and Jean Brown Day.
He married Marilyn Blended on September 28, 1969 at Raritan, IL and they were the parents of two sons, Ken and Jim.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn of Kahoka; two sons, Ken (Dennise) Day of Grain Valley, MO and Jim (Coleena) Day of Kahoka, mO; five grandchildren: Cooper, Carter, Caton, Aaron and Austin Day; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Richard Blender of Rushville, IL and Dorothy Blender of Monmouth, IL; two brothers, Dennis (Karen) Day of Lomax, IL and Terry (Allison) Day of Newton, IL; a sister, Connie (Mrs. Wendell) Booten of Stronghurst, IL; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Sally Day, Elaine (Mrs. Mike) Hall of Monmouth, IL and Karen Skinner and Ted Schultz of Rockford, IL; as well as nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Mike.
Richard farmed all of his live and he found his greatest pleasure from doing his chores, tending to the land and being with his grandchildren. He had been in the Army Reserves.
At his request, he was cremated with private services held on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at 10 a.m. at Wilson Funeral Home.
Memorials were suggested to the 4H Jr. Livestock for the new building.
