Louise Williams Drumgoole

The earthly sojourn of our beloved LOUISE WILLIAMS DRUMGOOLE, 88, of 11908 McKenney Highway, McKenney, VA came to a glorious end as she surrendered to her Creator, and fell silently asleep on Tuesday morning, November 13, 2012. Her going was as her life—quiet and peaceful. Louise loved her children and grandchildren with all of her heart and was never happier than when she was in their presence. She was immensely proud of her children who in turn loved, cherished, spoiled, and catered to her until the very end. Ganna, as she was called by the grandchildren, was one of nine children born to the late Joseph (Papa) and Naomi Bland Williams of McKenney, VA. She was the widow of the late Vannie Clyde Drumgoole. Her son Clyde “Joe” and daughter Marion preceded her in death. At an early age, Sister Drumgoole confessed Christ and joined the Big Bethel Baptist Church, McKenney, VA. There she worked faithfully as a member of the Senior Usher’s Ministry and as a member of the Missionary Ministry until her health began to fail. She leaves on record a life of love and devotion to her God and family and many memories to be remembered by those who knew and loved her. Precious memories will be cherished by four daughters, Alice D. Johnson (Fisk) of Dinwiddie, VA; Patricia D. Tucker (Edward) and Linda D. Ampy (Kendall) of Sutherland, VA; and Jewel L. Drumgoole of McKenney, VA. ; a devoted granddaughter/daughter, Sophia D. Bates (Dereke) of Ettrick, VA; three sons, Jerry Drumgoole (Gail) of DeWitt, VA; Carlester Drumgoole (Cheryl) and Reginald A. Drumgoole, Sr. (Valerie) both of Petersburg, VA; a sister, Alberta Vaughan of McKenney, VA; a devoted niece, Philistine Tweedle of South Holland, IL; two step-sons, James Drumgoole of McKenney, VA and Lawrence Bolling (Loureatha) of Dinwiddie, VA; a son-in-law, Robert Turner of Petersburg, VA; a sister-in-law, Marion Williams of Baltimore, MD; ten grandchildren, Lisa J. Dowdell (Shawn) of Lithonia, GA; Edward M. Tucker, Jr. (Tarranika) of Richmond, VA; Reginald A. Drumgoole, Jr. of Petersburg, VA; Kendra R. Ampy of Roanoke, VA; Nicole B. Drumgoole of Farmville, VA; Brian M. Tucker of Arlington, VA; Jerry Drumgoole, Jr. of Dewitt, VA; Jasmine A. Drumgoole of Preston, GA; Jason W. Ampy of Murfreesboro, NC; and Komari Murdock of Petersburg, VA; six great-grandchildren, Dereke Bates, Latoya Bates, Zihyon Turner, Zayla Tucker, Carter Ingram, and Tyheem Drumgoole; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and two devoted caregivers, Tina Lassiter and Karen L. Buck. The home going service will be held at 12 Noon on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at the Big Bethel Baptist Church, 10110 Marguerita D. Ragsdale St., McKenney, VA 23872. The Reverend Kevin M. Northam, Pastor of the Olive Branch Baptist Church, Dinwiddie, VA will officiate and Pastor Alexander Williams will deliver the eulogy. Burial will be in the Williams and Epps Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends at the home place, 11908 McKenney Highway, McKenney, VA 23872 and may be reached at 804-478-4112. The public viewing will begin on Friday, November 16, 2012 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home in McKenney and one hour prior to the service at the church.
