SOUTH FORK—South Fork resident Dolores Joy Carpenter, 85, went to be with our Lord on November 13, 2012 at her home in South Fork, with loved ones at her side..

Dolores was born January 1, 1927 in Kingman, Kansas the daughter to Harry I. and Enza O. Gilstrap Guldner. She married her husband of more than 65 years, Lionel L. Carpenter in Kansas City, Kansas on June 14, 1947.

Dolores was a homemaker and enjoyed volunteering for more than fifteen years in California at a hospital there. She enjoyed carpentry work and over the years helped her husband Lionel build many homes.

Dolores is survived by her husband Lionel of the family home in South Fork; her children Marta (Terry) Nigh of Hamilton, Missouri and Lee (Nancy Butler) Carpenter of South Fork; her grandchildren Casey (Nicki) Tapp, Kalin Tapp and Chris Carpenter; her great-granddaughter Auburn Tapp; her brother Paul (Sandra) Guldner of Wichita, Kansas and Eva Riley of Wichita, Kansas; her sister-in-law Jean (Darrell) Hamilton of South Fork; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers and sisters: Ralph Guldner, Joan Perkins, Nola Davis; parents-in-law Ott and Jewel Carpenter.

A visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Friday, November 16, 2012 followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at The Chapel of the South Fork, 0116 Landen Drive, in South Fork. Interment will follow services at the Morning Shadows Ranch in South Fork.

Rogers Family Mortuary of Monte Vista is in care of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations can also be made to the American Cancer Society in her memory.
