Lonnie L. Sauer, 92, of Perryville, MO died November 11, 2012 at Perry Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation in Perryville, MO. He was born on February 17, 1920 in Apple Creek, MO, son of Ferd and Rosa (Leible) Sauer. He and Lorene A. Gebhardt were married October 20, 1945. She preceded him in death on October 2, 2004. Mr. Sauer was retired from Wagner Electric Corporation. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, VFW Post 4282, American Legion Post 133, and AmVets Post 94. He was a US Army Air Corp veteran of WW II. Survivors include two daughters, Sandra Schnorbus (S.O. Clarence Leicht) of Warrenton, MO, Diana (Bob) Unterreiner of Mehlville, MO; three sisters, Leola Hotop, Eleanora Guth, Rosemary Dudley; two brothers, Florian Sauer, Ferd Sauer Jr.; six grandchildren, Kevin (Gina) Schwebs, Kelly Kirkpatrick, Jill (Paul) Gebken, Jay (Carrie) Unterreiner, Joy (Matt) Roth, Jackie Unterreiner; and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; two sisters, Virginia Sauer, Alvera Bellm; two brothers, Urban and Walbert Sauer; and a great-granddaughter, Jordan Unterreiner. Friends may call at Young & Sons Funeral Home on Thursday, November 15 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm with parish wake at 7:30 pm. Visitation will continue on Friday, November 16 from 6:30 to 9:30 am. He will then be taken to St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church for Mass at 10:00 am. Burial in St. Maurus Catholic Cemetery in Biehle, MO with military graveside provided by VFW Post 4282 and MO Delta Team. Memorial preferred to St. Vincent Schools. Young & Sons Funeral Home, Inc. in Perryville, MO provided the arrangements.
