Joan M. Boevers

Joan M. Boevers, 81, a resident of New Lenox, Ill., previously of Crestwood, Ill., Wisconsin and Pennsylvania passed away on Friday, November 9, 2012 in New Lenox, Ill.

She was born January 10, 1931 in Chippewa Falls, the daughter of Vernon and Frances (Fliehr) Burt.

On June 29, 1968, she married Donald H. Boevers in Chicago, Ill.

She was a member of All Saints Lutheran Church in New Lenox, a devoted and wonderful mother and grandmother who will be sorely missed.

Joan is survived by one son, Douglas (Mary) Sandvick of Washington; three daughters, Sharon (James) Nowak and Suzanne Anders both of Las Vegas, Nev., and Katherine Johnson of New Lenox, Ill.; one stepson, George Boevers of Michigan; one stepdaughter, Christine (James) Currieri of Wheaton, Ill.; cherished grandmother of 9 grandchildren, Bonnie, Thomas, Jill, Steven, Brenton, Kimberly, Corbet, Katie and Andrew; beloved great-grandmother of 18 great-grandchildren, Cole, Danielle, Samantha, Luke, William, Taylor, Leah, Julia, Alexander, Autumn, Hannah, Sophia, Kaitlin, Rena, Jacob, Maxwell, Austin and Charlotte; also survived by nieces, Deborah Malison and Judith (Bruce) Husband.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Gilbert Sandvick; second husband, Donald H. Boevers on April 4, 1984; her parents; two sons-in-law, Robert Anders and Michael Johnson; two brothers, Donald and Jerry Burt; and one sister, Betty Malison.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, November 16, at the Horan Funeral Home in Chippewa Falls. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Chippewa Falls.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. until the time of services Friday, November 16 at the funeral home.
