Inez L. Lehew, 91, formerly of Belle Vernon, passed away with her loving family at her side, in Sentara Virginia Beach Hospital on Nov. 9, 2012. Her memory will be forever cherished in the hearts of all the many friends and family whose lives she touched. Her whole life was devoted to family, caring and giving. She was born in Belle Vernon on November 22, 1920, the daughter of the late Salvatore and Nunziata Dolfi Lazzari. Inez was the former owner of the Sports Lounge and Laurie’s Terrace Room in Charleroi as well as Don’s Dairy Bar in Belle Vernon. She was a member and past president of the Annita Garibaldi Society, past president of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and a current member of the Wycliffe Presbyterian Church in Virginia Beach, VA. She has lived in Virginia Beach for the past four years with her daughter and son-in-law. Inez is preceded in death by her husband, Donald M. Lehew, a grandson Brett D. Schumm and a brother Elmo Lazzari (3additional brothers and a sister passed away in childhood). She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Donice C. and Jay F. Schumm, of Virginia Beach; two grandchildren, Jay D. Schumm and Laurie D. Coyne and her husband Mike; three great-grandchildren; Jenni M. Williams, Taylor D. Schumm and C. Bryce Coyne; two nieces, Nancy Kasinski and Laurie Rees and one nephew Mark Lehew. Leaving behind also is the family dog, Cricket, whom she dearly loved. Friends will be received from 2 to 4:30 PM on Thursday, Nov.15, 2012 at the Ferguson Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 700 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon.
