Roger P. Foraker, 74, of Townsend DE passed away at home of a heart attack on Sunday, November 4, 2012
Born on August 9, 1938 in Townsend DE, he was delivered by his great-grandmother Foraker.
Roger was a veteran of the Delaware Army Guard and a member of the Appoquinimink Chapter of Duck’s Unlimited.
He was an avid hunter and fishermen and always enjoyed a good poker game. Roger was involved in the Democrat party from an early age and continued until his recent passing.
He was an E.M.T. for New Castle County Ambulance from 1970 until his retirement in 1996 and was a part-time Townsend Police Officer in the early 1970s.
Roger will be remembered as a kind and giving man who was always helping anyone in need.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Jennie Foraker; his father, Edward Tippit; son, Eric Foraker; sister, Janet Willey and two brothers, Ray and Edward Foraker.
Roger is survived by his wife of 45 years, Carlene (Unruh) Foraker, son, Roger “Wade” Foraker and two brothers, William “Pete” Foraker and Vernon Foraker.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the New Castle County Police and Emergency Services, Larry Brown, Alan Dill, Brett Foraker, Dickie Burris and Mary and Francis Parker for all their help and kindness shared with Roger’s family during their time of loss.
Funeral services will be held 2 pm on Sunday, November 11 at Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home LLC, 212 N. Broad Street in Middletown, where friends may visit with Roger’s family from 12:00-2:00 pm. Interment will follow in Townsend Cemetery, Townsend, DE.
