J. M. Rogers, age 96, of Wiggins, completed his earthly journey on November 5, 2012 and was called to Heaven to be with his Lord. He was born on December 1, 1915 in Bay Springs, Mississippi and he was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church of Wiggins.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Eunice B. Rogers; parents, William Cooper and Dona Edna Rogers; sister, Margie Taylor; and brother, W. M. (Pete) Rogers.
Survivors are two daughters, Gloria (Larry) Breland of Perkinston, Jeanne (Steve) Prescott of Wiggins; two sons, Garry (Brigette) Rogers and Terry (Telecia) Rogers both of Wiggins; eleven grandchildren, Amy (Paul) Armstrong of Calera, Alabama, Jason Breland of Perkinston, Derek (Missy) Breland of Perkinston, Matthew (Danielle Rogers of Dublin, Georgia, Mary Beth (Josh) Rogers of Canton, Georgia, Jeffery (Miranda) Rogers of McHenry, Jenna (Daniel) Rogers of Perkinston, Terrell Prescott of Wiggins, Dewana (Kent) Raulston of Gulfport, Cassie (Jonathan) Hickman of Wiggins and Angie Rogers of Wiggins; nine great-grandchildren, Emily, Hannah and Brady Armstrong of Calera, Alabama, Johnathan Rogers of Dublin, Georgia, Remy, Maggie Grace and Hattie Rose Rogers of Canton, Georgia, Vivianne Rogers of McHenry and Lane Hickman of Wiggins; two sisters, Maris Rester of Poplarville and Dona Jean Forte of Pass Christian; one brother, Bro. Eldwyn Rogers of Wiggins; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, November 8, 2012, at Ebenezer Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m., Wednesday, November 7, 2012, at Moore Funeral Home in Wiggins.
