Olive Mae Chandler went to be with the Lord on November 2, 2012 at the age of 89 years and one month. She celebrated her 89th birthday on October 2nd and was blessed with a wonderful family and many dear friends. She was born October 2, 1923 to Estella (Holloway) and David May Jones in Atlanta, Louisiana. She married her husband, William L. Chandler on December 30, 1939 and remained with him until his death in 1998. Olive served at the First Presbyterian Church for over 60 years and was a deacon and an elder. Some of the men of her church will honor her by serving as pallbearers. She also enjoyed serving with the women’s auxiliary for the VFW in Itasca and was proud of her husband’s service in the military. She is survived by her daughter Dorothy Overstreet and son in law Charles; Grandchildren, Julie Teague, Andrea Wilson, Tisha Turner, and sister, Georgia Henthorn. She was also blessed with 7 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. Olive was preceded in death by her parents, her husband William L., her son, William Douglas Chandler and her siblings Mabel Brannon, Etta Marion, Dearwood Jones and G.D. Jones.
