WWII Veteran

Mr. Michael Beccia, 93 of 8 Lawrence Court, Milford, formerly of 15 Albion St., Waterbury, passed away on Friday, November 02, 2012 at the Beacon Brook Health Center, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Regina (Neuens) Beccia.

Michael was born in Waterbury on May 11, 1919 son of the late Nicola & Guiseppina (Iorio) Beccia. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having proudly served his country during the Pacific Theater of WWII. He then went on to graduate from UCONN, and worked as an Accountant for the State of Connecticut until he retired at the age of 60. Even after his retirement, he continued to work helping others until the age of 87. He was well loved not only by his wife, children, and grandchildren, but also by his nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Besides his wife Regina of 64 years, Michael is survived by his son: Michael Beccia and his wife Dianne of Cheshire, five daugthers: Marisa Blakeslee and her husband Michael of Cheshire, Barbara Frigon and her husband Chuck of Queensbury, NY, Pamela Nagy and her husband Rich of Bellmore, NY, Judi Howard and her husband Jim of Preston, CT, and Regina Wrenn and her husband Mark of Cheshire, CT, two brothers: John Beccia and his wife Angie of Anaheim, CA and Jerry Beccia and his wife Corine of Milford, CT, two sisters: Ann Porcaro of Waterbury and Marion Zaksewicz of Palm Coast, FL, fifteen grandchilren and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Philomena Buonocore.

Arrangements: Funeral will be held Monday, 9:30 a.m. from Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway to SS. Peter & Paul Church for a Mass at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Sunday, 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
